DMN-Westinghouse have obtained ATEX approval for their Rotary and Diverter valves. As a result of this DMN equipment is ATEX compliant to Group II Category 1, 2 or 3, as appropriate, and certified accordingly.   

Certified
The DMN-Westinghouse Rotary valves and Diverter valves are certified according to EC Directive 94/9/EC, Annex X, regarding ATmosphere EXplosives. This has been European Law since 1st July 2003, replacing national regulations with the objective of removing trade barriers between sovereign states.

The ATEX approval for Rotary valves is split up in three separate certificates, depending on the application of the valves as equipment, protective system/equipment or protective system. The Diverter valves have ATEX approval as equipment.

Quality
The Notified body for the EC-Type examination is EXAM (Germany). The Notified body in charge of quality surveillance is LCIE (France). DMN has a quality notification according to Annex IV through LCIE identification number 03 ATEX Q 8082.
